The successful pairs format combined with great wild angling in the fabulous Irish countryside has secured the World Pairs Championship for another year. With €16,000 for the Winning Pair it’s still the richest coarse match in Ireland! The Pairs competition has a guaranteed prize fund of €30,000 sponsored by Lakelands & inland Waterways, and the winning pair will each additionally receive a DAIWA  ‘Made in the UK’ 13’ Tournament Long Distance feeder rod and a Caldia 4000 reel with Mag Sealed valued at £1500.

An Individuals match will run inside the Pairs with £6,500 sponsorship in tackle prizes from DAIWA.

Designed to highlight the angling tourism in the Lakelands region the fishing is spread over several counties and moves slightly this year to incorporate Carrick on Shannon, the buzzing town of County Leitrim experiencing its 400year anniversary. The emphasis for the fishing will be around the towns & villages of Leitrim and Cavan with a small section in County Fermanagh, no doubt
to incorporate the splendid fishing experienced in the Enniskillen area last September.

Another addition for match fishing in Ireland! 
Inland Fisheries have confirmed their support for this new match contributing €500 worth of tackle to the prize fund already sponsored to €250 by the Ballinamore Tourism & Angling association. 
Fishing local loughs including Lake Garadice this five day match is open to everyone.  You can reserve your place now with Ireland Travel Plus or call in at 'The Forge' tackle shop in Ballinamore. 
The opening and registration takes place on Sunday 19th May at Shortts from 7pm.
